Missions - Reach Out!

Jesus calls us to move beyond the four walls of our church to spread his message of love and acceptance. As growing Christians, we are encouraged to put our faith into action as we accept the call to go and serve others.

Hope’s Mission Ministry Team has a goal to serve as a catalyst for Hope Church, to provide and inform its members of mission opportunities both locally and globally; to provide information about justice and peace issues; and to inspire members to reach out as Jesus did.

Each of us has been given gifts to work in the building of God’s realm. We encourage all members to discover their unique gifts so they can take the church into the wider community and world.

We support a church community that ministers to others in Jesus’ name, seeking to live fully into God’s vision of a world of justice, abundance, and love.

Local Missions:

Most of our local efforts are in conjunction with Koinonia, our local Christian social service agency. Read the most recent news about our local missions work or read the local mission web page.

Social Justice and Global Missions:

In addition to participating in the UCC’s Our Church’s Wider Mission, we are also interested in social justice issues like LGBT equality and full marriage benefits, immigration reform and breast cancer.

Here is the latest news about our social justice and global missions efforts:

Hope on the Edge

Each month we select one social justice issue.  On the first Sunday of each month, from 9:00-10:00 am, we have a presentation, guest speaker or discussion on a social justice issue.  Then, later in the month we take some type of action on this issue.

Hawaiian Luau

Our biggest event of the year is our Hawaiian Luau. All proceeds from the luau go to support our mission work.

For more information about the Luau or any of our missions projects, contact Pam Sheehan.
