Music Ministry

Hope Church is made up of people from a variety of Christian spiritual traditions.  In our effort to be a home for as many people as possible, we include  prayers, liturgy, and music from several of these traditions in our worship. We use two hymnals during worship, The New Century UCC hymnal and an alternative hymnal that contains other hymns our community enjoys singing.

Our music director is Nichole M. Hodges-Abbasi. As part of the worship planning team, she carefully integrates the music with the liturgy, prayers and sermon for each service.  Nichole accompanies us on the piano.  Although you won’t hear organ music, you will often hear drums, guitar and tambourine.

Our choir, Voices of Hope, is a fun loving group of people who enjoy making a joyful noise.  Instead of relying on performance pieces, the choir leads the congregation in every hymn, adding harmony throughout the service.  Listen to some short samples of our music.  Come and join us!  No robes, no auditions, ability to read music not required, just a willingness to sing and have fun.  Practice is every Wednesday evening from 7:30-9:00.
